Yu Yang 楊宇在從皇家藝術學院紡織品設計梭織方向畢業之前，他曾經是一名圖案設計師和大學藝術設計老師。這次的他在皇家藝術學院的畢業作品 Nostalgia 是他用壁毯這種柔軟的媒介來展現內心變化而又復雜的故鄉思緒。
Prior to studying at the Royal College of Art Yu Yang worked as a lecturer in Bangkok and Graphic designer in China. Yang Yu's textile work combines art, craft, and design. He uses playful weaving to explore pertinent contemporary issues of the domestic human condition.
Yu Yang 楊宇，本人離開了他的故鄉，一座小小的城市，開封，長達10多年之久。再次回到故鄉，現實的景象使他童年時的那些回憶開始變得混亂與模糊。他發現，這座小城的不斷變化也正在改變這座城市中人們之間的關係。
He has left hometown Kaifeng, a small city in China to study and work more than ten years. He had to confront with feelings of disillusion, disappointment, anger, fear, and frustration when he came back to hometown.
因此Yu Yang 楊宇，他嘗試使用中國傳統織布技術去描繪自己的細小感受與故事。同時在英國學習期間，由於受到Sheila Hicks，Grayson Perry等藝術家的影響，西方的手工編織與工業提花也逐漸出現在作者的作品當中。
Yu Yang tried to use traditional Chinese weaving techniques to describe his own feelings and stories. At the same time, due to the influence of Sheila Hicks, Grayson Perry and other artists, Western tapestry weaving and jacquard weaving also gradually appeared in his works.
