Yang Xu (1996年，中國山東)。Wimbledon College of Arts 繪畫學士(2018年)，Royal College of Art 皇家藝術學院繪畫碩士(2018-20年)。
Carpet Paintings & Velvet Fantasy 是她於2020 畢業於Royal College of Art 皇家藝術學院繪畫碩士(2018-20年)的作品，主要是透過則她的performativity，面具的表現形式和如何把我自己的身體與繪畫相結合。

Yang Xu 對材料料很痴迷，像地毯和絲絨這樣的材料料可以把畫面隱藏，像是給畫面放上了一層面具。 也給她的畫面帶來一種神秘感和距離感。她從小就很喜歡絲絨這種毛茸茸的材料，喜歡觸摸它的感覺，所以她喜歡她的作品給別人帶來想要觸摸的慾望。她描述著說：
Selected oil painting on the synthetic carpet, I am playing with the materiality of painting, exploring the expanded field of painting. The carpet symbolises consumerism, daily life, which is a comfort and luxurious product, by painting on it I have broken the original purpose of the product to give it a new meaning and a different value.
I love the texture and I love crushed velvet, the thickness of the fabric and how it shimmers. When images printed are on velvet, the image soaks into the fabric, the reflective part of the fabric increases the contrast of certain areas of the image, when you look closely (at the actual work of course, not your screen!) the image is lost in the pile of the fabric, it is abstracted, blurred and disappears. Velvet is a mask, it makes my photographs more fabulous and illusional.

選擇合成地毯上的油畫，我在玩繪畫的物質性，探索繪畫的拓展領域。地毯象徵著消費主義、日常生活，是一種舒適、奢華的產品，通過在地毯上作畫，我打破了產品原本的目的，賦予它新的意義和不同的價值。
我喜歡它的質地，我喜歡壓碎的天鵝絨，它的厚度和它閃爍的光芒。天鵝絨上印刷圖像時,圖像浸濕了織物,織物的反射部分增加圖像的某些區域的對比,當你仔細看(當然,在實際的工作不是你的屏幕!)圖像丟失樁的織物,它是抽象、模糊和消失。天鵝絨是一個面具，它使我的照片更神話和幻覺。
這是我選擇的一系列作品，向你展示我想象中的幻想。
