Touching Memories 

鄉愁是個體主觀情感的情感,詩歌是人們表達情感的媒介之一。設計師 Han Lin 從美國詩歌百科全書中選出了 8 首關於「鄉愁」的詩印刷裝訂成冊,所選 擇的詩歌講述了不同人在不同環境中對個體認同和原始身份背景的探索。該項 目還涉及絨花印刷的工藝探索和實踐。 



Homesickness is the emotion of individual subjective feelings, and poetry is one of the mediums for people to express their feelings. This typographical book selected 8 Poems about "homesickness" from the Encyclopedia of American Poetry. The selected poems tell about the exploration of individual identification and original identity background by different people in various environments. The project also relates to the typography and exploration of flock printing methods.

植絨印花是一種古老的技術,已在公元前 1000 年左右在中國使用。在歐洲, 它在中世紀開始流行 , 匠人使用類似的方法將纖維粉塵附著在具有粘性的表面 上。在 20 世紀 70 年代,隨著改進技術和粘合劑的出現,植絨成為一種流行的 裝飾方法。在 80 年代和 90 年代初,隨著人氣的逐漸消失,很少有印刷商使用 這一工藝。雖然絨花不是最廣泛使用的裝飾過程,但大多數人都使用它用來模擬的天鵝絨或絨面革的感覺且它在許多工業應用中被廣泛使用。

Flock printing is an old technique that was already in use in China around 1000 BC. In Europe it became popular during the Middle Ages - were used to attach fiber dust to sticky surfaces. It was in the 1970s, with the advent of improved technologies and adhesives, that flocking became a popular decoration method. In the 80s and early 90s flocking popularity faded away and few printers used the process. While flocking is not the most widely used decorating process, the average person is aware of its velvet or suede feel, and it is used widely in many industrial applications.


Han Lin 將植絨的柔軟觸感和令人放鬆的舒適感做連接,將植絨和詩歌排版結 合成冊。旨在希望讀者在閱讀詩歌的同時借由觸感獲得安慰,在閱讀過程中, 讀者通過觸摸書中的絨花放下戒備之心,並理解到思鄉的人並不孤單 ......

The designer connects the flocking soft touch to the relaxed comfort, combining flocking and poetry layout into a book. It is intended to hope that readers will be comforted by the sense of touch while reading poetry. During the reading, you can get a slight relaxing by touching a soft flock in the book and realize that people who are homesick are not alone...

實驗,除紙張和溫度外,圖案對最終結果也有不同的影響。紋理分布不均勻,具有意想不到的效果。After many experiments, in addition to paper and temperature, patterns also have different effects on the final results. The texture is not evenly distributed and has unexpected effects.
